WTF is Nocode

I have built pretty much every type of website. Wordpress, Squarespace, Wix, Plain HTML. Landing pages have been created on every service available: Instapage, Unbounce and LeadPages to name but a few. To put it bluntly I’ve built thousands of things that have ended up on the internet.

At the same time as building all these different sites I lost count of the amount of people who just wanted to quickly and easily put something online without going through the hassle of firing up some Wordpress hosting, sorting out a theme and then keeping it maintained while at the same time not wanting to pay through the nose for a bunch of features that they would never actually use.

Fast-forward to 2017 and I met my Nocode co-founder Kai working on a passion project. I could tell he was a brilliant developer and would be someone I would love to work with and build some cool things. It took about a year for our work commitments to line up and after several very long conversations about everything from AI to blockchain to SaaS and everything in between.

One of my most pressing headaches was to have a way to publish information very quickly and easily without going through the hassle of setting up a whole ‘website’ I had played around with some static site generators but I didn’t have enough time to really get my teeth into them so I was left feeling frustrated with something that was supposed to make my life easier!

One of the longest conversations between Kai and myself was specifically around this area and we had seen some excellent tools come into being like Gatsby, Forestry and Netlify but they were being built for and pitched at very technical users.

So this is where Nocode was born. Let non technical users build very simple, fast and secure websites from content in their Google Documents.

So the question I started this blog with was what the hell is Nocode. Well to sum it up.

It’s our passion for solving problems for people who don’t have technical skills. We built Nocode to do all of the work, so you won’t have to when you need to publish something.

That is what Nocode is. We would love you to come and have a look at what we made.
